How Our Connections Hints Work
Our progressive hint system provides just the right amount of help. Start gentle and reveal more only when needed.
Level 1: Category Hints
Easiest • Perfect Starting Point
Reveals the theme or category for each color group (Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple). Examples: "Common words," "Physical objects," "Related to sound." This level provides context without any specific information about the words themselves.
Example:
Yellow: "Common words used in everyday language"
Green: "Objects you can physically touch"
Level 2: First Letter Hints
Easy • More Specific Guidance
Shows the first letter of each word in the category, with underscores for remaining letters. This narrows possibilities significantly while still requiring you to solve the puzzle.
Example:
S _ _ _ _, P _ _ _ _, R _ _ _ _, C _ _ _ _
Level 3: Partial Word Hints
Medium • Almost Complete
Reveals most letters in each word, leaving only 1-2 letters blank. This level provides substantial help while maintaining some challenge. Use when you're truly stuck but still want to figure out the final answer.
Example:
S M A R _, P H O N _, R I G H _, C L I C _
Level 4: Complete Answers
Spoiler Alert! Full Solutions
Reveals the complete words for each category. This level has a prominent spoiler warning and requires an explicit click to reveal. Only use this level when you've given up or need to understand the solution.
Example:
SMART, PHONE, RIGHT, CLICK
How to Choose Your Hint Level
Start with Level 1
Category hints often provide enough context without revealing anything. Many players solve puzzles using only Level 1.
Progress Gradually
If Level 1 doesn't help, move to Level 2. Each level provides progressively more specific information.
Use Level 3 Sparingly
This level reveals most of the answer. Only use when genuinely stuck and want minimal remaining challenge.
Level 4 is Last Resort
Complete answers end the puzzle challenge. Use only when you've exhausted all other options or want to understand the solution.
